An Interlocking Concrete Pavement is a system of paving consisting of discrete, handsized paving units with either rectangular or dentated shapes manufactured from concrete. Either type of shape is placed in an interlocking pattern, compacted into coarse bedding sand, the joints filled with sand and compacted again to start interlock. The paving units and bedding sand are placed over an unbound or bound aggregate layer.
Brown’s manufactures a full line of pavers, including 80 mm thick Nordic stone for use in commercial applications; in fact, the 80 mm units are available in both standard and machine lay patterns.
